Imran and Ranbir have decided not to host shows together again, their sizzling chemistry notwithstanding. The boys want to keep their “pairing fresh”

The accolades came in great numbers when Bollywood’s youngest heartthrobs Imran Khan and Ranbir Kapoor hosted this year’s Filmfare Awards event, they were a complete riot. The two set the show’s telecast TRPs soaring and senior actors like Amitabh Bachchan complemented this awesome twosome who, with their ready wit and vigour, brought the house down in their maiden stage appearance together on February 28.

“We had a whale of a time,” confessed Imran recently. And then he dropped the bombshell. The two actors have decided they will not host a show together for the longest time, though of course show organisers say that they are being tempted with big money.

An insider revealed that the two boys actually did their first show together as a dry run to check how well they complement each other as co-stars; and their larger intent is to make themselves a good screen-pair, like Aamir Khan-Salman Khan in Andaz Apna Apna or Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan in Karan Arjun.

On being asked why they had decided not to do another show together, Imran quipped, “Ranbir and I want to keep our pairing fresh. Frankly we have been wanting to do a film together. Producers have come forward with proposals to sign us together. However, we haven’t found a suitable script.’’

The Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na actor said that both Ranbir and he, who are thick friends, are independently looking for scripts that can justify their pairing. “But we have come up with nothing so far,” he declared.

According to a trade consultant several film corporations wish to be the first to create this casting coup of having Imran and Ranbir together and the boys have even been offered Rs 8 crore each as their remuneration, but the young actors are very adamant about not doing a film unless they find a script that they completely and fully approve of. In fact both the actors are sitting on a pile of scripts but are extremely careful about which ones they should give a green light to, even in their individual careers.

While Ranbir Kapoor will complete Rajneeti, Wake Up Sid, Rocket Singh and then start a film for Yash Chopra’s brother-in-law Gawa’s son; Imran Khan has gone on record to say that as of now he will only be seen in Soham Shah’s Luck and Aamir Khan’s home production, Delhi Belly.

Well neither money nor love can tempt these two friends into signing a project they are not convinced about.
