Director Soham flies print to Chennai, to show Shruti's debut to her dad Kamal, his gal pal Gowthami and sis Akshara. The actress' mom Sarika still hasn't seen the film, which releases this Friday!
A special screening of Shruti Haasan's debut film Luck was held at director Priyadarshan's Four Frames Studio in Chennai on Friday. Her dad Kamal Haasan, his live-in girlfriend Gowthami and Shruti's younger sister Akshara were present. Priyadarshan was also at the screening and cheered for the star daughter.
Sarika missing at trial On Saturday night, the film's producers Shree Ashtavinayak held a trial at Film City, which was attended by Bipasha Basu and Arshad Warsi among others. But Sarika was conspicuous by her absence. Soham confirms, "We had a special trial on Friday in Chennai for Kamal Haasan. All Shruti's close friends and family were present. They were all excited to see Shruti as an actress on the big screen. I got an opportunity to meet Kamal Haasan, and he gave his opinion as a father, an actor and as an audience. He really liked the dialogues." He adds, "He told me that they had never planned Shruti's debut. But he sees Shruti as a complete package with her acting abilities, action sequences and that I displayed her in a very unconventional way. Gowthami loved the way Sanjay Dutt was presented."
Priyan cheers Talking about Priyadarshan's reaction, he says, "Priyan Sir was cheering for Shruti. For me, it was a honour that he watched my film. He loved the action scenes and liked the pace of the movie as a filmmaker." Says a source, "As these screenings were organised by the producer and the director, Shruti is yet to have her own trial. Maybe, one might catch a glimpse of her mother at her personal screening."
It is a well-known fact that Shruti does not share cordial relations with her mother. Nor does she live with her mom when she is in Mumbai. Says a source, "Shruti, who wants to continue in the Hindi film industry, is looking to buy a place of her own, even though her mom has a place in Mumbai."

New-look danny Danny Denzongpa is back in a completely new avtaar. The actor, who had disappeared from the Bollywood circuit, will be seen in the role of a gangster in Soham Shah's Luck. A source from the unit reveals, "Soham created a special look for his character. Clad in jeans and kurta, accessorised with gold chains and sporting gelled hair, Danny was initially apprehensive about this new look suggested by Soham. He even suggested a few changes here and there. But the director stuck to his guns and assured Danny that the styling would suit his character just perfectly."
