Falling in love can be hard on the knees, discovers Imran Khan

The buccaneer was seen walking like a pirate after having twisted his knee, spraying pain relief and wearing knee braces to get back on his feet. I Hate Luv Storys, he pledges on screen, but is busy off screen designing the engagement ring for fiancée Avantika for the official engagement in January next year!

That I mran Khan is injury prone is nothing new. He burnt his lashes while shooting a train scene for Luck.

Then again, Luck was an action film and injuries are part and parcel of such shoots. But on Friday, Imran Khan injured himself while shooting a song in I Hate Luv Storys! Having twisted his knee and sustaining an injury that made it difficult for him to even walk straight, Imran still went ahead and completed a 15-hour long shooting schedule of Punit Malhotra’s directorial debut that also has Sonam Kapoor and Sameer Dattani in the cast! And not only did he shoot, Imran also found time to tweet about how he walked like a pirate on the sets post the injury, sprayed some stuff (read pain relief), wore knee braces to be back on his feet and even discussed his favourite writer, Roald Dahl!

While a lot of action seems to be happening on the sets of I Hate Luv Storys, there is no dearth of it in Imran’s love life either. The buzz doing the rounds is that the actor is also busy planning his official engagement. On July 18, Imran had thrown a birthday party for girlfriend Avantika Malik. It was a very private affair where the actor had proposed to Avantika. And after dating for six years, Avantika was quick to accept it too. However, the duo — never really gone the ‘we-are-just-friends’ way — hadn’t made any formal announcements in July. Informs a source, “The official engagement is sometime in January. Imran’s father, Anil Pal, is expected to fly down from America for the ceremony. As a token of love, Imran is himself designing the engagement ring for his fiancée!”
Calcutta Times tried getting in touch with Imran about the buzz surrounding the engagement date, but the actor was unavailable for comment.
