Why Sonam Kapoor will have a hard time forgiving Imran Khan for losing his grip on her while filming a romantic song
It was supposed to be a romantic moment between the lead pair of I Hate Luv Stories, Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor, but then things took a rather mucky turn.
The young actors, who were filming a love song in the lush green countryside of picturesque New Zealand, were required to run to each other and after a brief embrace, Sonam was supposed to lean back in Imran’s arms, a la the immortal Raj Kapoor-Nargis Dutt pose that represents the RK Films banner.
The first few takes didn’t seem to satisfy Punit Malhotra, the director of the film. So he kept asking Imran and Sonam to add more flourish to the move. After some more attempts, the day’s exertions started to take a toll on Imran.
So when Sonam rushed into his arms again and leaned back, this time with more vigour, a Imran lost his grip and even his heroine couldn’t manage to regain her balance in time to prevent a fall. Even he fell while trying to break her fall.
That in itself wouldn’t have been so bad, because the earth cushioned most of the impact. But what they hadn’t realised is that the cattle grazing harmlessly nearby had left a big calling card.
Says a source, “The worst part was that Sonam fell on some cow dung. When she got back on her feet, she felt some sticky substance clinging to her. And when she realised what it was, she rushed off to get a quick shower.”
Imran confirms, “Sonam and I were supposed to do a ‘dip’, where she bends backwards and I support her. In one of the takes, we lost our balance and she fell backwards into a pile of cow dung. Luckily, it was the last shot we were planning to use that costume in.”
"As actors, we all want our audience to like our work; so even if you ask me this question after five years I will say yes I want to work harder and harder to be loved by my audience."
