I'm back. Yes, as promised, I have not forsaken you. I took an extended leave of absence for reasons I shall soon go into, but that's all in the past now. I'm here, you're here (well not 'here' where I am 'here', but 'here' somewhere, no doubt. Perhaps even there.) and we're back in business. Ok, explanation time. Where was I?
Here and there, mostly. Things got a little hectic with my shooting and promoting schedule, and I started to feel like I wasn't able to write my columns in a way that satisfied me.

I Hate Luv Storys has taken a fantastic opening at the box office, something which the entire team including Karan Johar, Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor were quite sure of once they wrapped up the film. Now that youth is patronising the film in a big way and spreading good word of mouth, Imran is expectedly pleased. Story: Jay Dhingra (Imran Khan) is an aaj ka chokra. He turns up his nose at anything that remotely resembles soppy sentimentality, even though he works as an assistant to a film maker (Samir Soni) who peddles the most improbable mush on screen.
Enter, the new art director, Simran Sharma (Sonam Kapoor) who eats, sleeps and is drunk heady on ishq-vishq and all that goes with it. A diehard romantic, she even has a perfect boyfriend called Raj (Samir Dattani) who gifts her a white chrysanthemum, each time he meets her.
Producer Karan Johar, director Punit Malhotra and the team of Dharma Productions I Hate Luv Storys have grown to admire and adore the light-eyed Imran Khan.
Imran, who plays Jay in IHLS, a guy who is a bit cynical about love has turned in such a convincing performance in the rom-com releasing worldwide on July 2; that Karan and Co are absolutely gaga about him. Punit says, “Imran is so dedicated that it is an absolute delight to work with him.”

The first thing that attracts you to I HATE LUV STORYS is its title. Let's face it, we adore love stories... at least I do. We idolise the characters decades after the movies have come and gone. The songs that come on our lips instantly while playing a game of antakshri are romantic songs as well. In fact, the biggest moneyspinners, let's face it, have been love stories, right? So how can we 'hate' a love story?
"As actors, we all want our audience to like our work; so even if you ask me this question after five years I will say yes I want to work harder and harder to be loved by my audience."
