I don't know how closely you follow film industry news, so I'll give you a quick recap. A few weeks ago, a tabloid wrote a story about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The story was false, and it really angered the entire family. Amitji demanded a public apology (which they have not yet received), and things have generally gotten pretty ugly. I have my own running war with another tabloid (I haven't spoken to them in about a year, and they make sure to write nasty stuff about me every so often), and if you look around, you'll realise that pretty much everyone in the biz has had a fallout with a certain section of the media at some point or another.Read more...

First off, congratulations to my sometimes friend, ometimes enemy PC, who is celebrating her golden jubilee as a columnist. It seems like just a couple of weeks ago that I was the new kid on the block, attacking PC in my second column, and sparking off an epic battle between men and women. Predictably, I lost. (After enduring the pain of waxing, manicures and facial exfoliations, it seems women are invulnerable.) But it's been great fun matching wits with you. Here's to another 50 columns, and many more alter- cations. Seriously, don't leave me alone with the new kids!Read more...

It’s strange, isn’t it, how much I talk about death... maybe not so strange if you knew a bit more. I feel that perhaps I’ve seen more than my fair share of it. More than I was ready to deal with. I went to a funeral last week. I lost a very dear friend of mine. In the last six years, three of my friends have died. Two of them in the same year. They were young, healthy, not a thing wrong with any of them. Just tragic accidents that noone could have foreseen, noone could have done anything about.
The thing about death is that it’s a part of life. We’re all subconsciously prepared for it, we understand the inevitability of it. But there’s a time for it.
One of my friends is a Delhi boy. I'll call him AJ. He's moved base now, which is how we became friends, but he grew up there, and still has a lot of friends there.
A couple of weeks ago, AJ was telling me about a party he attended in Delhi. Besides being someone's birthday, it was also a reunion of sorts; old school friends who hadn't seen each other in a while. They had a blast that night, drinking, talking, reliving old escapades till the wee hours of the morning. The party finally came to an end; they said goodbyes, and headed home.
If you read the large print at the top, you know I'm back. missed reading my columns. Those of you who didn't... why were you reading them in the first place? Stop now. I took a break for a while, because I just didn't have the kind of time I needed to write a halfway decent column. Shooting schedule was hectic, followed immediately by my engagement, so I figured rather than write something I wasn't happy with, I'd take some time off. And now I'm back.Read more...

The `Celeb in the City' space is frequently the scene of many battles of the sexes. Senior Columnist PC has been runnina battles of the sexes. Senior Columnist PC has been running her sisterhood series for a while now, and New Kid on the Block Kunal Kapoor (or Kunnu, as I call him. Please feel free to do the same, he loves it) spent hours rambling to various alliterative characters in his quest to better understand women. I personally think he understands them just fine for his nefarious purposes, but that is neither here nor there.Read more...

I consider myself a very lucky person. Because I love my job. It's an absolutely brutal profession, and obvious perks like money and fame aside, you take it for granted that you will be slandered, ridiculed, and abused on pretty much a daily basis. I'm cool with it though, because I honestly love being on a film set. We work long hours, often shooting through the night, through heat and cold, rain, snow, sandstorms (yes, really) and God knows what else;Read more...
"If I am making a film, and I don't earn any money and it does not win any awards, but if someone comes up to me and says hey, I love that film, that is the only thing that matters to me."
