BollySpice's Kidnap Movie Review 4 Oct 2008 | 465 Views | admin
Performance-wise, Imran Khan was the only silver lining in this movie. He was far from perfect, but whatever bit you do enjoy in the movie is thanks to his performance. It was nice to see him move from the baby-face role in his debut film to a more serious one, proving that he is indeed a capable actor.
The movie is shot well, the camera work is good - there are some very well executed scenes, but when you have a flawed recipe in your hands then no matter what the chef does his dish will end up disappointing the hungry audience. Random song placement, below-average acting, absolutely illogical writing and poor casting make Kidnap one of the most senseless movies of 2008. I'd suggest you only watch it if you know a fantastic surgeon who can extract all the grey matter from your brain for the length of this movie. Otherwise you'll end up shaking your head after every ten minutes wondering why writer Shibani Bathija is insulting your intelligence with such a script. Kidnap is a definite miss.Read more...
This Eid's most keenly awaited film Kidnap sees the latest teen sensation Imran Khan in a radically different avatar. From essaying a cute, lovable boy-next-door in Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na to a new-age angry young man, Imran has grown by leaps and bounds. Kidnap sees him perform some death-defying stunts, which even had veteran Sanjay Dutt concerned for his safety and well-being.
Leaving the crew of the film astonished, Imran underwent a 3 week training by the UK-based action director Dane and did all the Parkour himself. The chase scene between Imran's and Sanjay Dutt's characters involves a heavy dose of stunning Parkour and is among the high points of the film. The scene required Imran to jump from a 16-storey building, which he did without any support!Read more...
What has scarred Imran Khan? 24 Sep 2008 | 332 Views | admin
The ‘cute’ actor has quite a wild streak hidden inside him. He has a huge fascination for knives and is also quite a pro at jabbing a knife between his fingers.
“When I was at school, I used to love jabbing the knife between my fingers without looking at my hand. It was quite a fascination and I would do it regularly,” Imran told After Hrs, flaunting his scarred fingers.
He added: “Do you see these scars? It is all the result of my playing with knives. I have got hurt regularly when I started doing it but it was fun and I enjoyed it.”Read more...
Promotion for Kidnap is in full force with its release just days a way. One of its stars, the rising young actor Imran Khan, has been making the promotional rounds and we thought we would bring you some highlights of two of his recent interviews.
When speaking with Anupama Chopra on Picture This, she asked why he chose to do an action film like Kidnap that was so far from his debut film the romantic Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na? He replied, “It’s a really boring answer. I liked the script. I realized it was very different and I liked the idea of doing something like that, liked the challenge of it. I liked the fact that so early on in my career I’m getting the option, I’m getting the challenge of do something like this.”Read more...
