I don't know how closely you follow film industry news, so I'll give you a quick recap. A few weeks ago, a tabloid wrote a story about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The story was false, and it really angered the entire family. Amitji demanded a public apology (which they have not yet received), and things have generally gotten pretty ugly. I have my own running war with another tabloid (I haven't spoken to them in about a year, and they make sure to write nasty stuff about me every so often), and if you look around, you'll realise that pretty much everyone in the biz has had a fallout with a certain section of the media at some point or another.Read more...

First off, congratulations to my sometimes friend, ometimes enemy PC, who is celebrating her golden jubilee as a columnist. It seems like just a couple of weeks ago that I was the new kid on the block, attacking PC in my second column, and sparking off an epic battle between men and women. Predictably, I lost. (After enduring the pain of waxing, manicures and facial exfoliations, it seems women are invulnerable.) But it's been great fun matching wits with you. Here's to another 50 columns, and many more alter- cations. Seriously, don't leave me alone with the new kids!Read more...

It’s strange, isn’t it, how much I talk about death... maybe not so strange if you knew a bit more. I feel that perhaps I’ve seen more than my fair share of it. More than I was ready to deal with. I went to a funeral last week. I lost a very dear friend of mine. In the last six years, three of my friends have died. Two of them in the same year. They were young, healthy, not a thing wrong with any of them. Just tragic accidents that noone could have foreseen, noone could have done anything about.
The thing about death is that it’s a part of life. We’re all subconsciously prepared for it, we understand the inevitability of it. But there’s a time for it.
Imran Khan in Dibakar Banerjee's next 19 Feb 2010 | 147 Views | admin
Imran Khan proved himself a man of the masses when recently he shot a cola ad with Kalki Koechlin shot by Dibakar (Love Sex & Dhokha) Banerjee.
The ad, a slice-of-life love story about two strangers' chance encounter on a crowded streets of Mumbai shot over 2 days last month, had hordes of fan descending on location. Imran dealt with the situation like a pro, mingling, signing autographs, posing for photographs.
The BEST bus hired for the shoot became his home for two days.
Romance, love and happily-ever-after are loaded words that can take on diametrically different meanings at any point of time. Last year, we had women pouring their heart out in the Romance Diaries. This year, we decided to get three men to give their version of the big story. Youth heart-throb and romantic hero, Imran Khan, who has just got engaged, gets candid about past relationships, love and a strict code of honour. Director and writer of popular romantic movies, Imtiaz Ali, scripts his version of happily-ever-after – through the lives of his most popular onscreen characters. Fashion photographer, Atul Kasbekar, talks about romancing the camera, and how no one else exists when he’s looking through a lens.
One of my friends is a Delhi boy. I'll call him AJ. He's moved base now, which is how we became friends, but he grew up there, and still has a lot of friends there.
A couple of weeks ago, AJ was telling me about a party he attended in Delhi. Besides being someone's birthday, it was also a reunion of sorts; old school friends who hadn't seen each other in a while. They had a blast that night, drinking, talking, reliving old escapades till the wee hours of the morning. The party finally came to an end; they said goodbyes, and headed home.

Imran Khan makes debut in Coke ad 11 Feb 2010 | 149 Views | admin
Bollywood actor Imran Khan, who has stayed away from the endorsement segment, will now be seen in the new Coca-Cola advertisement as its brand ambassador.
"This is actually the first and the only endorsement I have signed over a year and a half since I have joined the film industry. This was the only endorsement that I wanted to sign before they ever came to me," said Imran.
"I think Aamir has been endorsing Coke for 10 years now and ever since I was a kid, I used to watch his ads. I have always considered Coca-Cola to be synonymous with refreshment and happiness. I am sure everyone will find the new Coca-Cola communication extremely engaging," he added

I'M BACK, I'M BACK 7 Feb 2010 | 192 Views | admin
If you read the large print at the top, you know I'm back. missed reading my columns. Those of you who didn't... why were you reading them in the first place? Stop now. I took a break for a while, because I just didn't have the kind of time I needed to write a halfway decent column. Shooting schedule was hectic, followed immediately by my engagement, so I figured rather than write something I wasn't happy with, I'd take some time off. And now I'm back.Read more...
"If I am making a film, and I don't earn any money and it does not win any awards, but if someone comes up to me and says hey, I love that film, that is the only thing that matters to me."
